Your first visit to Coastal Holistic will involve a comprehensive, hour-long consultation with one of our holistic veterinarians. This initial appointment is very important because your practitioner needs adequate time to review your pet's medical history, thoroughly examine your pet, and discuss with you any problems or symptoms that are occurring. During this consultation, your doctor will also seek to understand your pet's current behaviors, diet, and living environment. Based on an analysis of all these factors, your doctor will suggest a customized nutrition and health plan for your pet, and together you and the doctor will determine the best treatment strategy.

Because we allow more time for you and your pet to spend with the doctor, the first visit to our clinic may be more expensive than your first visit to a "regular" veterinarian. Additionally, please note that your initial appointment fee does not include acupuncture, chiropractic, or other therapies. These treatments are separate charges, but they can be performed during the initial visit if time permits and you wish us to provide these services at that time.

Your initial visit may also include routine diagnostic testing, bloodwork, and vaccinations, which are also provided for an additional fee.

Follow-up appointments are typically 30 minutes in length, and may include a brief exam as well as acupuncture, chiropractic, or other necessary treatments.

Important Appointment Policies

When scheduling a new patient consultation, we ask that you provide a valid credit card number to hold your appointment. If you are unable to keep your appointment and you must reschedule or cancel, we require 24 hours notice, otherwise your credit card will be charged for the amount of the initial consultation fee. Missed appointment fees also apply for follow-up visits.

If you do need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, the more notice you can give us, the better. As our practice continues to grow, we encourage our clients to adhere as closely as possible to scheduled appointments for the consideration of other clients, as we may have turned away clients who desired your appointment time. We understand that sometimes unexpected events occur, but your cooperation with our appointment policy is greatly appreciated.
